Our Pasture-raised Bronze Turkeys

We hand raise a very limited number of
turkeys each year.
We are still accepting reservations for our 2010 Thanksgiving Turkeys.
Visit the COUNTRY STORE to order online or CONTACT US to receive a mail-in order form.
Even as children, when we think of what a Thanksgiving turkey looks like, the first bird that typically comes to mind is the beautiful Bronze. We could not agree more with that image and we find the bronze turkey to be absolutely beautiful -- both on pasture and on the dinner table!
Our pasture-raised Bronze Turkeys will be ready for Thanksgiving dinners and your end-of-year festivities.

In blind taste tests, heritage turkeys have proven to be superior in flavor to the Butterball.
"In an event sponsored by the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy on February 25, 2008, approximately 70 food professionals, chefs, food writers and food connoisseurs participated in a blind tasting comparing one industrial and eight heritage varieties of turkey. The purpose of this event was to give a fair and parallel comparison of nine varieties of turkey to determine which, if any, stood out in flavor.
The turkeys were scored based on flavor, texture, tenderness, smell and appearance. When the tally was over...all eight of the heritage turkey varieties came out ahead of the industrial variety -- a Butterball. "
We will begin taking orders in the early fall.
To order, please visit our Online Country Store or stop by to see us at the Farmers' Market at St. Stephen's.
Using the same humane farming methods that we use to raise all of our animals, we raise our turkeys on green grass,clean water, locally prepared natural feeds and fresh air and sunshine.

Comments from our customers...
~~~"I just wanted to let you know that our turkey was AMAZING!!! We brined it with your recipe (although we used half the salt). It was coated with an herbed butter over and under the skin, stuffed with an apple and current stuffing and then it was started at 500 degrees with the oven temp dropped immediately to 350 and slow roasted until the legs pulled away from the body. It browned a little faster than its conventional counterparts, but it was beautiful and the flavor was sublime!!!
Thank you so much!~~~
~~~"Please make sure that we are first on the list for next year's turkey. I have been making Thanksgiving turkeys for my family for more than twenty years and I can say that, hands down, this is the best turkey we have ever eaten. Thank you, thank you, thank you!" ~~~
