Simply Abundant Lamb...experience the difference!

You will immediately taste the difference in Simply Abundant Lamb. The delicate flavor of our gourmet lamb proves irresistible from the first bite.

Simply Abundant Farm is home to approximately 50 sheep.  The ewes and lambs are pastured year-round and fresh grass and locally grown hay form the majority of their diet.  Our lambs also receive small quantities of a custom all-grain ration of locally grown grains which is blended here on the farm.  

Our naturally raised lambs are free from sub-therapeutic antibiotics and growth hormones. With the help of our working Border Collies, the sheep are moved to fresh pasture frequently.

 Once you experience the delicate flavor of a properly prepared cut of Simply Abundant Lamb, it is obvious why our lamb is prized by chefs and home cooks alike. Our lamb is most flavorful and tender when cooked to medium-rare. 

 

  We maintain two distinct breeding flocks at Simply Abundant Farm. The sheep from both flocks provide both meat and wool that
will exceed your expectations.  

 

The first consists of approximately 15 purebred, registered Border Leicesters.  Our prize-winning Border Leicester flock provides beautiful white and natural colored wool fleeces. Our Border Leicesters also provide us with mildly flavored lamb our customers rave about.

 

The rest of the Simply Abundant flock follows a three-tier breeding system used in the UK.  Our Scottish Blackface and and Cheviot
ewes are crossed with our Bluefaced Leicester ram to produce commercial crosses known as Scotch and Cheviot Mules.

The Mule ewes are then crossed with our Texel ram to produce lambs which grow quicklyon a grass based diet and produce tender cuts of lamb with a flavor far superior to the lamb that is available in supermarkets today.

Purchasing Simply Abundant Lamb

Simply Abundant Lamb and our white and natural colored handspinning fleeces are available directly through the farm at local farmers markets and also select retail locations in the Richmond area.
